Terms

The rules, in plain language.

Last updated: July 26, 2026

I'm one person building IndieDex. These terms are the deal for using the site: what you get, what you shouldn't do, and what happens with paid Supporter. They work together with the Privacy Policy. If you need help, use Support.

The service

IndieDex lets you search a game catalog, open game pages, and (with an account) track games, build lists, leave thumbs, follow people, and share profiles. Some thank-you extras are for Supporters only. The product is still being built in public; features can change, break, or move behind membership later, except the free basics called out on the membership page.

IndieDex is provided as-is. I work hard to keep search and pages up, but I do not promise unbroken uptime, perfect prices, or a complete catalog.

Accounts

You need a Google and/or Steam login to create an IndieDex account. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Don't share sign-in access, don't try to break into someone else's account, and don't create accounts only to spam or harass people.

You must be old enough to use the service under the laws where you live (and at least 13, or 16 where that is required). If I merge accounts in rare Steam-linking cases, I follow the merge rules described in product notices at the time.

Supporter membership

Supporter is optional. Checkout is handled by our payment processor. Prices shown before checkout may be in USD; the amount shown at checkout is what you pay in your local currency.

You can cancel any time. Perks stay active until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds, if any, follow our payment processor's policies and whatever I can reasonably do as a solo operator when something goes wrong on my side.

Buying Supporter supports the free product. It does not buy better search ranking for a game, and it does not let anyone pay to bury another game.

Your content

Lists, reviews, profile text, and similar things you create stay yours. You give IndieDex a license to host, display, and share them as the product needs (including on public pages when you make them public).

I may hide, restrict, or remove content that breaks these terms, looks abusive, or is required by law. Moderation tools (for example write restrictions or hiding a public profile) exist so the community stays usable.

Please don't

Don't use IndieDex to break the law, harass people, post malware, scrape the site in a way that harms the service, hammer paid search endpoints, try to reverse-engineer private APIs for abuse, or pretend to be IndieDex or someone else.

Don't use automated tools to create fake engagement (fake thumbs, fake follows, fake reviews). Don't upload content you don't have the right to share.

Game catalog and storefronts

Game facts, prices, art, and store links come from public storefront sources and processing I run. IndieDex is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve, Steam, Epic, GOG, itch.io, or other platforms I may mention when describing where a game is sold.

Prices and availability can be wrong or late. Always confirm on the store page before you buy. Descriptions and media on IndieDex are for discovery; click through to the store for the official listing.

If you are a developer or rights holder and want a game or asset removed or corrected, open Support or email support@indiedex.com and say what needs to change. I will take reasonable requests seriously.

IndieDex's own stuff

The IndieDex name, site design, code, and original writing belong to me. You may link to public pages. You may not copy the product wholesale, mirror the site, or use the brand in a way that suggests official partnership without permission.

No fancy guarantees

To the fullest extent the law allows, IndieDex is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied (including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement).

Recommendations, search ranking, and "games like" shelves are opinions of an automated system, not a promise that you will like a game or that a title is safe, cheap, or still for sale.

If something goes wrong

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid me for Supporter in the 12 months before the claim or (b) fifty US dollars (USD $50). Some places do not allow these limits; there, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.

Ending access

You can stop using IndieDex any time. I can suspend or end access if you break these terms, abuse the service, or if the law requires it. If I close a paid membership for a reason that is on me, I will work with you (and our payment processor where needed) on a fair outcome for unused time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Nevada are the venue for disputes that cannot be resolved informally through Support, except where a mandatory consumer protection law in your country says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms as the product grows. The date at the top will change when I do. If you keep using IndieDex after an update, you are accepting the new terms. If a change is painful, say so in Support; I read that stuff.

Contact

Questions about these terms: Support or support@indiedex.com. I'm one person. English and Portuguese are easiest; I'll do my best with other languages.

If a translated version of this page disagrees with the English one, the English version is the one that counts.
